Hybrid Country Chapter Meeting: Manila Philippines (19 January)

OSAC Manila Country Chapter members are invited to OSAC Manila’s hybrid meeting scheduled on Thursday 19JAN2023, from 2pm to 4pm PST (GMT +8). This meeting is entitled: “Disasters in the Cyber World – Preparing and Managing for When Data IS the Disaster.” The overall idea is to help members see that preparing for physical world disasters such as the results of a typhoon, earthquake, or major fire is similar to the steps we must take in preparing for a cyber disaster.

As a hybrid meeting, we will meet both in person and via ZOOM. The site for our in-person meeting is the Robert Sears Hall at the American Chamber of Commerce, 2nd floor Corinthian Plaza Building, Paseo de Roxas corner of Legazpi Street, Legaspi Village, Makati Philippines. Parking is probably easiest at the Greenbelt 1 Shopping Center, across Paseo de Roxas from the Corinthian Plaza building. A link for your reservation for either the on-site or the ZOOM meeting will be provided a few days before the meeting.

Our speaker is scheduled to be Paul Jackson, Regional Managing Director, APAC Head of Cyber Security & Investigations for KROLL.

Our vision for the meeting is as follows:

  • the importance of a well-documented train of the proactive steps the company and staff, from Board of Directors, through senior, Officers to new hires, took to identify and reduce risks;
  • The importance of good documentation to show what we did to be ready. Fires happen. Cyber-attacks will happen. What did we document? How do we show that we prepared as well as we could?
  • How to establish and document drills, responses, teams, and the people networks needed for best responses;
  • Liaison with investigative agencies, which may desire or need to impound or collect as evidence computers, peripherals, servers and other business critical materials;
  • Other points of proactive disaster preparation, management, and recovery;
  • Establish bilateral liaison with our members, with a view to encouraging members to participate more fully in dealing with weather and climate issues in their work place and family environment as well as the community at large.

Registration is open now and can be completed HERE
